Under $5
1. DRIFTIT ($4.99 · Windows, Mac, Linux · free in the browser)

Ours, so weigh this with that in mind. DRIFTIT is a top-down drift game in the spirit of Absolute Drift: one car, the camera straight overhead and a handbrake. Each of its 20 tracks is a short three-lap time attack against a target time; touch a wall and the run starts again from the grid, so every lap has to be clean. Points come from speed and angle, and a held slide pushes the multiplier up to ×10. Your best run rides along as a ghost with a split at every checkpoint.
The Steam version came out on 24 October 2026: a Steam leaderboard for every track (times are uploaded with their replay and re-driven, so a time that doesn't add up stays off the board), Steam Cloud, a free-roam airfield, five languages, keyboard or gamepad with Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo prompts. It is too new to have a review score yet. Not sure? The same game plays free in the browser, so you can try the handling before you pay.

2. Drift86 ($1.99 · Windows)
RewindApp's 2019 arcade drift game is the best-reviewed thing on this list: Very Positive, 90 % of about 1,700 English reviews. It is built around "the mythical 86" and drift combos set to eurobeat, with 30+ maps, 40+ cars, online multiplayer with chat and Steam leaderboards. Controller support is partial (an Xbox pad works), so it is mainly a keyboard game. Valve rates it Playable on Steam Deck. It runs on very old PCs: 4 GB of RAM and Intel HD graphics.
3. Hashiriya Drifter ($1.99 · Windows, Mac, Linux)
Midnight Games' 2020 online drift game, inspired by old-school Japanese street drifting. It goes deeper than its price: build a car from a bare chassis, tune the suspension, take damage, and drift, drag or race online. It is rough around the edges, which shows in its Mixed reviews (68 % of about 1,300), but nothing else at $1.99 offers this much tuning, and it is one of the few cheap drift games with a Mac version. More on Mac in drift games on Mac.
4. Cyber Drift ($4.99 · Windows)
Meng Games' 2023 game is pure time attack: pick one of 8 tracks, drift for 1 to 3 minutes and beat your own best, with Steam leaderboards and achievements. There are 5 cars, 30+ songs, and you can import your own music and decals. Positive reviews (84 %), but only 13 of them. It asks for more GPU than the rest of this list (a GTX 1060), so check your PC first.
$5 to $10
5. Vaporwave Drift ($5.99 · Windows)
An earlier game (2019) by Meng Games, the developer of Cyber Drift: a retro neon look, a deliberately easy drift model, no AI cars, and a global leaderboard for total laps. Or park by the road and listen to the music, as the store page suggests. Reviews are Mixed (54 % of 46); Cyber Drift is the newer, better-reviewed take on the same idea for a dollar less.
6. AE86 EUROBEAT DRIFT ($9.99 · Windows)
Not a racing game so much as a drift puzzle-platformer: 30 hand-made levels where you drift an AE86 with no brakes past deadly saws to collect eurobeat tapes. Minimalist art, an original eurobeat soundtrack, Positive reviews (88 % of 27) and Steam Deck Playable. The system requirements read "anything from this millennium", which is about right.
7. VOXEL DRIFT RACER ($9.99 · Windows)
New in September 2026 and, like DRIFTIT, top-down. The store page describes a friction-circle handling model where drifting comes from managing grip, with drift assists (levels 0 to 2) to get started, 12 tracks, 12 modes including time attack with a personal-best ghost, online races, and editors for your own tracks and voxel cars. It has a single review so far, so it is a bet, but the feature list is long for the price.
8. Drift Racer ($5.99 · Windows, Mac)
Carruto Games' 2021 game: 60 levels in a 1980s style, 8 cars, drifting against in-game AI, full controller support. It has a single Steam review, so there is almost nothing to go on beyond its trailer and screenshots; we list it because it is one of the few cheap ones with a Mac build.

The free one: Drift Legends 2
If the budget is zero, Black Fox Entertainment's Drift Legends 2 (2025) is free to play on Steam: arcade drift physics, 50+ cars from JDM to American muscle, a story campaign, online PvP and co-op, and weekly leaderboards. It makes its money from in-app purchases. Mostly Positive (76 % of about 700 English reviews) and Steam Deck Verified. More options, in the browser too, in free drift games.
Over $10, but worth a wishlist
These cost more at full price, and they are the ones the sale roundups keep listing. Add them to your Steam wishlist and Steam emails you when they are discounted.
- Absolute Drift ($14.99 · Win, Mac, Linux · Deck Verified): the original top-down drift game, Very Positive (89 %). If you like DRIFTIT, this is where it comes from; see games like Absolute Drift.
- FURIDASHI: Drift Cyber Sport ($11.99 · Win): an online drift simulator, Very Positive (82 % of about 1,000). Valve rates it Unsupported on Steam Deck.
- CarX Drift Racing Online ($16.99 · Win · Deck Verified): the default online drift game on PC, 95 % positive across 40,000+ reviews, 120+ cars, 16-player lobbies.

Cheap, called "drift", not a drift game
DriftForce ($1.99) comes up in every search for cheap drift games, but it is an endless runner about steering anti-gravity drones through procedurally generated tracks. Fun for high-score chasing (Mixed, 67 % of 59), just not drifting a car.
How to buy a cheap drift game without regretting it
- Read the review count, not just the score. "Positive" from 13 reviews says much less than "Very Positive" from 1,700. A game with one or two reviews is either brand new or barely played.
- Use Steam's refund window. Steam refunds a game you have owned for less than 14 days and played for less than 2 hours. That is plenty of time to find out whether the handling clicks.
- Check the controls. "Full controller support" means a pad works everywhere, menus included. On a keyboard, tap the steering keys rather than holding them: our how to drift with a keyboard guide shows why. With a pad, see drifting with a controller.
- Check the PC. Most cheap drift games run on anything, but Cyber Drift and Vaporwave Drift want a dedicated GPU. On an old laptop, games for a low-end PC has lighter picks.
- Try before you buy where you can. Vaporwave Drift has a free demo on Steam, and DRIFTIT is free in the browser.
Which one to pick
- The most game for $1.99: Drift86.
- Tuning and online lobbies, on any OS: Hashiriya Drifter.
- Top-down, short tracks, chasing your ghost: DRIFTIT (try it free first).
- Something different: AE86 EUROBEAT DRIFT.
- Nothing to spend: Drift Legends 2 on Steam, or DRIFTIT in the browser.
